Signs of Emergency

  • Severe or persistent coughing
  • Fast, labored or loud breathing sounds
  • Collapse or falling over
  • Pale gums
  • Seizures or tremors
  • Lethargy or non-responsiveness
  • Persistent pain, arched back, limping or weakness in any of the limbs
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Persistent low appetite or weight loss
  • Abdominal distension
  • Difficulty defecating or urinating
  • Injuries including vehicle trauma, falling from a great height or attacked by an animal
  • Insect or snake bites
  • Any swelling of a body part including sudden facial swelling and skin hives
  • Ingestion of a poison, medication or a foreign object
  • Eye injuries including swelling, redness or discharge
  • Bleeding from any part of the body or in feces or urine
  • Pregnancy and delivery complications
